Trevor Lockett (CSIRO) International BioFest

France Institute for Agricultural Research shares MyNewGut study results at national conferences

This year the INRA team (French National Institute for Agriculural Research) has presented in 4 different conferences in France to share results obtained in the My New Gut human study. This study aimed at evaluating the effects of the quantity and quality of protein intake on the microbiota composition, feces and urinary bacterial metabolite composition, and consequences for the rectal mucosa.

Peter Holzer discusses new findings at Physiology 2016


On July 31st Peter Holzer represented Medizinische Universitat Graz (MUG), a MyNewGut partner, at Physiology 2016. This was a joint meeting of the American Physiological Society and The Physiological Society (Europe), and took place in Dublin, Ireland.

 He discussed MUG’s new findings obtained within MyNewGut, the message being that a high fat diet (when given to mice for 8 weeks) induces a very distinct depression-like phenotype with an altered gut microbial profile. 

Yolanda Sanz presents at "Better Foods for Better Health"

On June 4th Yolanda Sanz of IATA-CSIC, a MyNewGut partner, presented at the “Better Foods for Better Health” conference. This was organised by the Merieux Foundation, and aimed to present new perspectives from the microbiota approach, evaluate opportunities, and discuss the need for new tools of assessment. The symposium proved a platform to increaxe dialogue between academia, industry, and regulators. 

Her presentation was focused on “Optimising the host-microbiota partnership to tackle obesity: the EU My new gut project”.
